Interval Singing for Bass Voices

Post by Kian »

Dear Readers,
I recently purchased Earmaster 5 and since I received it I have been working steadily through the exercises. It is an excellent programme and a very worthy investment for anyone who is considering buying it.

My question relates to using 'Interval Singing'. I have a Bass voice and I have found that the programme seems to be biased towards higher voices. Is there any way in which the settings can be adjusted in order to allow the lower octaves to be exercised?

I would be grateful for any advice. I look forward to hearing from you.

You can always customise the exercices. You have the tutor, jazz tutor and customize. With that one, you can do whatever you want the exercice will do

In the Customized exercise setup window, choose "Advanced" in the "Keys and Root movement" box. When you click "Edit" a new window will show up where you can change the upper and lower limit for the root.

I'm glad to hear it. You can use the customize for all the exercices. ;-)

Dear Fellas

In the Trail Version,

I Costomised the exercises as explained,

But in the Interval Comparison Exercise

one is not able to Choose for the diatonic Interval, Which Suited me well,

in the standard Tutor. So now I'm off point.

Because I'm a bass Singer and I practice every lesson intensely (maybe 8 times).
I Might be a dumbass; Tell me, Why are these functions un-operable in the keys and root movement advanced window ?

The "Diatonic interval" option is not so relevant in the interval comparison exercise because in this exercise you only need to answer A or B. The staff is not used to input the answer at all, only to show the tones after the answer.
