Hi,
I was planning to get the earmaster 5, but then noticed the posts about version 6 coming, and decided to wait, but it seems I might have to wait a while longer.. So I was wondering if I buy version 5, do I have to pay full price for the EM 6? (If so, then I'll just keep waiting)

EarMaster 6 is not about to come. There have been rumors, but no official date has ever been given yet. We are too far from completing the new version to come with an official schedule.
When EarMaster 6 gets close to come out in Beta, there will be announcements about an official release date. Thsi is just not actual right now. Owners of v5 will be able to upgrade at a lower price, just as it is possible today for owners of version 4 who can upgrade to v5 at a lower price.
