This forum section topic is Interval song examples. Songs known to the listener that feature a particular interval can aid in identifying that interval in other pieces of music, or in the Ear Master software training program.

The song Bring Him Home from the musical Les Miserables features an octave interval at the very beginning of the song. When the Jean Valjean character sings the first two words "God on ...." of the phrase "God on high, hear my prayer". This is an ascending octave.

This may be a useful example for some people that could help them identify ascending octaves as the song is well known.

Specific enough now?
