Solfege Fundamentals - midi input of answers ?

Post by Tonto »

Hello Earmaster,

I am interested in purchasing the "Solfege Fundamentals" workbook. However I want to input answers by midi keyboard rather than singing.

QUESTION: is this option available with the "Solfege Fundamentals" module ?

I note that the "call of the notes" module does not have this option - only singing.

Midi keyboard input will give me a better connection of my fingers to the keyboard and the sound of the notes. At least that is what I am aiming for.

You can actually use a MIDI keyboard in Call of the Notes, but unfortunately not in Solfege Fundamentals which is made exclusively for voice.

To use a MIDI keyvboard in Call of the Notes, open the Exercise Options (right-hand panel) and enable "MIDI Input"

Curious to know this too — MIDI input for Solfege Fundamentals would be a fantastic learning option

I think the idea of using a MIDI keyboard instead of singing is quite interesting. Have you tried the “Melody Imitation” or “Rhythm Imitation” modules? I remember some modules in Earmaster accept MIDI signals, but I’m not sure if this applies to Solfege Fundamentals. If you really want to practice “finger-to-ear,” maybe you can incorporate MIDI input in other parts to supplement.
