I've used PlayScore 2 to create a MusicXML file from a pdf of a solfège textbook. I've tried to import two different files and both have problems in EarMaster. Here are the two errors from the two files; (I can't seem to attach them)
1. Part id "P1" Measure "3". "duration" not found or invalid,
2. Part id "P2" Measure "32": Polyphonic voices found and converted to monophonic
The files have two staves: a treble for the tenor and a grand staff for the piano accompaniment. Otherwise nothing special. No dynamic markings etc. There are a few lines of text in the pages here and there giving instructions, but those wouldn't be in the XML I expect.
I've also tried ScanScore and get even more errors
I'll tell you what I'm trying to do and maybe there's some other way you can suggest. I have various solfège books that I use and would like to be able to use EarMaster's singing feedback feature to see whether I'm doing the exercises correctly. Is there some other workflow other than using some software like PlayScore (which I've used for some years) to generate the XML files that maybe maybe EarMaster can handle.
(I've also sent a message to support.)

Re: MusicXML woes
Hi,
Could you please send one or both files to support@earmaster.com so that we may look them? It shouldn't mater which software you use, but not all MusixXML elements are supported. In most cases, EarMaster ignores or converts unsupported elements, but we have experienced before that some unhandled items cause errors.
Since you are interested in solfege, we have a very good surprise for you in a few days. — stay tuned!![Wink ;)](./images/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif)
