I really think that as regards chords , chord inversions and chord progressions
the voicings used in the current version of this program need to be updated. When i go through some midi jazz piano files i get from the internet , i test myself to see if i can identify the chords and progressions by ear. I find this very difficult because of the complex voicings used on these tracks.

I have finished earmaster 5 completely , standard and jazz tutor , and find myself trying to make new exercises to further my study. Im really looking forward to a new version of earmaster. Bring it on!! :-)

Any1 else agree??

You can make your own chords with more voices using the customized exercises. If you are interested in jazz, buy some books about jazz harmony, and use the chords you like on custom exercises.

However, what I think EarMaster lacks, is an option to create custom progressions with custom chords and custom voicing.

I suppose thats more what i mean. I have all the stuff by Bill Dobbins and Mark Levine, Piano Books etc. but i think it somewhat takes the challange out of the exercise if you've made it yourself. Plus im abit lazy 8-)
