Improving sound quality of EarMaster 5 (again...)

Post by PSAUL »

Hi all,

I am new to the forum and EarMaster Pro 5 and I have a question or two. I am trying to improve the sound output quality. I have searched the forum for this topic and this is what I have tried so far,

1. I installed Kore Player II and the LoopBe1 midi pass through. I get no sound out of Kore Player II at all, whether playing some of its stock example files or midi input from Ear Master. If I use LoopBe1 as the output from EarMaster and also select it as the input to the Kore Player the Kore player blinks when a sound in played in EarMaster but the speakers are quiet. Not surprising since I can not get Kore player to make any sounds. I believe Kore is receiving midi form Ear Master because it is blinking. There are not many option in Kore and I have tried them all but still no sound of any kind with or without EarMaster as the input to Kore. Any suggestions from those who are using this program???

2. So next I tried LoopBe1 and Guitar Pro 6. Here when something is played in EarMaster the midi is sent to Guitar Pro and entered on the staff/tab sheet but no sound until I press play in Guitar Pro 6. So is there a way to have Guitar Pro 6 play the midi stream as it comes in (and hopefully not add it to a staff/tab input window)? Any one using Guitar Pro 6 in this way with success???

I know this is an EarMaster forum, but I learned about these two approaches here so I am wondering if others are using these with success?

Any help is appreciated.

Hi Paul,

I think you should try SyFonOne with the FLUID GM soundfont, and link it with EarMaster through LoopBe1. It is very stable and sounds very good. You can also load other soundfonts that you might come across on the web.

For Kore player, perhaps you didn't double-click on the patch you wanted to use. If you don't specifically double-click one of the sound presets, it isn't going to generate any audio.
