Last upgrade to EM5 fails on rhythm sections

Post by chasdl »

Hi Folks,

I recently upgraded my Ear Master 5 using the download offered on the Web, and the new version doesn't seem to work in the rhythm dictation part of the program. It throws a lot of memory errors.

Has anyone else had this problem?

Best...

Hi Charles,
This problem is not happening on any of the computers we have here at the office (both Intel/PPC Mac OSX and Windows XP/7), so we'll need to know more about your set up: OS, Processor, amount of RAM, and the exact error message that is displayed on oyur screen.

Thanks in advance.

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you...

I have a Windows XP Pro SP3 system. It's a dual core, 5300 processor with 4 GB of RAM (of course, being a 32 bit version, it can only access ~3.2 GB, but there we are).

Unfortunately, I had to uninstall the new version and reinstall the old, so I don't have the new version running at the moment. The error message was something like "Not enough memory to perform the request." Of course, I attempted to run it with very few other applications open just to make sure there was enough memory.

Some of the modules would open, like interval identification, for example. Others, like Rhythm Reading, would not.

In addition, I apparently can't find the original email with the link to the upgrade. Could you please send me that link? I will reinstall the new version and report back with the exact error message if it would help.

Thanks, and best...

Charles

Hi Charles,
You can update EarMaster from within the program. Go to the Help menu, and use the "check for updates" function.
Best regards,
Quentin
