Solfege system for ascending and descending intervals

Post by twangocaster »

hi,

i am having trouble with the descending and ascending interval recognition exercises... as it now includes notes that are in between the traditional do-re-mi-fa-so-la-ti-do system.

do you have any tips as to attaching a syllable to these in-between sounds? i would rather not use a tune to help me identify the interval.

say, for example, a descending fourth is do-so, and a descending minor third is do-la, so what should the descending major third be?

would appreciate any help... thanks!

There are syllables for sharps and flats too. You can find them here:

Hi Hans,

Are you aware of a website that has audio or video files of all the scales sung using the solfege method? I found Major and Minor, but nothing else....

Also, do you recommend a beginner/intermediate book for the solfege method?
