I've been doing well so far but got stuck at interval comparison exercise 18 (telling harmonic major 3rd from minor 3rd). I do melodic intervals with no problem. Initially I was stuck with harmonic 2nds but now I can tell them apart with esae. Now the problem is harmonic 3rds.
I really have no idea how to improve. I set up a customized exercise to practice these 2 only but haven't been able to improve despite trying it for a week. For a few pairs I can tell the different in quality immediately but for others they are just really hard to distinguish. Anyone knows a way out or has encountered similar problems?
Problems with harmonic thirds

These two are a difficult pair to deal with in my opinion.
Try to sing them melodically after you heard them played harmonically. It's easier to sense the tonal distance that way in the beginning, and remember to use our interval song examples chart (see the ear training menu of the site) to find reference tunes for each.
m3 sounds also a little melancholic, while M3 is more of the epic-sounding type of interval, if that can be of any help (it works for me at least )
