Windows ME Explorer Error in M2GFX.DRV

Post by ricknpen »

I am trying the EarMaster Pro 5.0 software (Trial Version) on Windows ME. I have been running it since last weekend. The package is great and initially it ran great as well. However, within the last couple of days I have been receiving a chain of errors:

"Ear50 -- An error has occured in your program. To keep working anyway, click Ignore and save your work in a new file. To quit this program, click close. You will lose information you entered since your last save." The PC had locked and no clicking on any of these buttons caused any change.

Upon a CTRL-ALT-DEL, I rec'd a Blue Screen with text "System is busy. The system is busy waiting for the close program dialogue box to be displayed. You can wait to see if it appears, or you can restart your computer."

Upon pressing a key from the Blue Screen and returning to Windows, I have rec'd "Error: 0E: 016F: BFF8E64B. and Explorer caused a segment not present fault in module M2GFX.DRV at 0001:000071EC.

As I said, I really like the program, but I'm not going to buy it if it is going to continue to crash my PC.

Thank you!

Hi,

m2gfx.drv has nothing to do with Earmaster. I'm afraid this is an internal error in Win Me .

This OS (Me) is known to be very unstable.

In case, you may try to re-install Earmaster and see if things get better, but I would advise you to make a diagnosis of your Me installation.
