Go Back (Step Back) Button

Post by rickeyjt »

At time it would be nice to step back in a series of exercises. Sometimes I click next or auto forward and would like to actually go back several questions and not just replay the one I am currently on only.

Maybe this would screw up your scoring system but I don't care about the score. It is a journey and I know I got it right at the moment or can instantly read the correct answer for feedback. Long term scoring records do not interest me as a professional player. Training my ear and getting each one right one step at a time is where I want to be.

Interesting idea. Do you want to go back to get a previous question as a new question you have to answer? - or just to hear it again?

I would like to step back as far as I want to and not really as a new question. Does an exercise just go on forever until you quit? Perhaps allow setting a limit to the number of questions I want to be asked in an exercise session.

Let's say in Melodic Dictation I choose to hear exactly 100 questions - 4 tone, perfect 4th interval within an octave ambit. They will auto play, auto answer within my specified time limits and you can score for each question heard its first time.

Now, I would like the ability to press a key to step back as many questions as I want, one by one, and continue on forward from that point again or step back again. We can always skip forward, just let us skip backward.

Thank you for your suggestion. We will consider that for the next version of EarMaster.
